WinGlass Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 5, 2026

WinGlass is a Windows 11 app, published on the Microsoft Store by Gabriel Serejo, that applies a glass effect to the Windows interface and shows widgets on the taskbar. This policy explains which data the app and the winglass.com.br website use and what they do with it.

Summary: the WinGlass app has no servers, collects no data and has no telemetry or ads. Everything it uses stays on your computer. The app's only internet connection is optional: reading your Google Calendar, if you connect your account. The website uses visit statistics, described in section 4.

1. Data that stays on your computer

None of this is sent anywhere. When you uninstall the app, Windows removes its data folder.

2. Calendar widget and your Google account data

The calendar widget is optional and only connects to Google after you click “Connect Google account” in the app's panel. Sign-in happens in your browser, on Google's own page: WinGlass never sees your password.

Requested permissionHow it is used
See your calendars (calendar.readonly, read-only)Read your calendar list, so you can choose which calendars are shown, and the events of the displayed month and the next two months (title, start and end, location, color and event link), to show the month view and the upcoming events list.
Your email address (openid, email)Show in the panel which account is connected.

Use. Calendar data is used only to display the calendar widget to you. WinGlass does not create, change or delete events.

Storage. Events are kept only in the app's memory. So that you don't have to sign in again, the app stores a Google access token on your computer, encrypted with your Windows account (only that account can read it), together with your email address.

Sharing. WinGlass does not send your Google account data to any server of its own or of third parties, does not sell it, does not use it for advertising and does not use it to train artificial intelligence models. Communication happens only between your computer and Google's servers.

Deletion. You can disconnect your account at any time in Widgets › Calendar › Disconnect. This revokes access at Google and deletes the stored token. You can also remove access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Google policy. WinGlass's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. How the glass effect works

To apply the effect, WinGlass loads its own module into the Windows interface processes (taskbar, Start menu and system flyouts). This module only changes the background of those elements. It does not read or record the content of your windows, files or typing.

4. The winglass.com.br website

This section applies to the website only. The app does not use any of these tools.

5. Children

WinGlass is not directed at children and does not collect data from anyone.
